Special Report Guide:
1. Introduction
2. How to Get There
3. What to Bring
4. The Brothers
5. The Maze
6. The Armor and Weapons (sets)
7. Conclusion
8. The Do’s and Dont’s
1. Introduction
Well you might see people walking around in armor that looks incredibly powerful and think, “wow what’s that they are wearing”, or” wonder how much that is” and so on. This guide is designed to give you all the information possible. Before you start getting ready for it take to heart that these monsters are very strong indeed, you won’t live with out prayer pots.
Now for the information you’ve all been waiting for…
2. How to Get There
Start at varrock and head east. Walk through to where you did the priest in peril quest and take the underground ally through to Morton (werewolf village). From here head east into the swamps and go south until you reach a little maze area. Follow the maze around until you end up in a village where shades and zombies populate the area. Head towards the south-east until you see a bridge. Cross this and follow the path around until you reach a Cemetery. Theirs a small shack with a tome inside containing information about the brothers, other than that, you’re at your destination.
Prerequisites
Quests
Priest in peril
Ghosts Ahoy *
Desert treasure *
Search for the merique*
*optional – but help considerably
Character levels
Combat of 80 and higher (mind you this is just what I recommend)
More things to take later on
Items needed
Shovel
Teleport runes (ectophail if you have done ghosts ahoy)
Prayer pots
Some food
Sets for combat
These are guidelines for what you should take if you are attempting the barrows.
Melee
Melee is not recommended for the brothers
Weapons
Whip for a weapon, no less, unless you are taking borrows weapons.
For Three simple reasons:
Fast
Powerful
Not that expensive
A drag dagger (s) is extremely helpful helps weaken them down with poison. the special is highly useful so using this constantly then switching back to a better weapon is highly recomended
Armor
Armor full rune – don’t take dragon armor because you may be killed easily and that’s what I’m trying to help you avoid. But if you’re rich enough take something like full ahrim's.
This style is strongly frowned upon because of the monsters defense. unless you are using prayer potions.
Magic
+70 mage
This is defiantly the way to go when it comes to dealing with the brothers. These are a list of spell setups that work well.
Full mystic – don’t bother with splitbark, the bonus isn’t high enough and you won’t get hit with prayer pots.
Ancients – ice works well on them, so grab enough runes for these and you’re good enough. This is the best way to kill the brothers.
Normal spells Book – God spells are a must, saradomin, zammy, and guthix all work alike.
Magic Dart - yes, the slayer spell. this hits up to 20's this spell is an absoulute killer. the spell costs death runes and mond runes, cheap and effective.
Ranged
75+ range
Bring of course full black dragonhide armor mage short and rune arrows (range pots are optional but not needed).
That covers what you will need, now for the brothers themselves.
4. The Brothers
First and foremost these are not in any particular order.
Verac the defiled
Verac, one of the more simple brothers to kill as he has no particular bonuses if you protect from melee should be your first target. I would recommend Verac first because of his low defense stats. Simply put, protect and mage him until he dies.
Torag the Corrupted
Unlike Verac, Torag has a very high defense bonus/ although maging him will send him to the grave faster than Verac, if he gets a hit on you it’s going to hurt. Torag may be defeatable with out prayer pots, depending on your level.
Guthan the Infested
He doesn't have alot of defence although strong. if he gets the chance to hit you he can heal himself off your hit points. so once again prayer up and mage him. also note guthans armor is the rarest.
Dhorak the Wretched
Note the giant axe. This is the big guy of the barrows, more people die from this than from kalphite queen. After doing borrows only three times I have seen half a dozen people die on this beast. Always watch your prayer never let it slip below 16-18 or else you will be one more of this beast’s victim. I’ve seen him hit 45+, you have been warned.
Karil the Tainted
An easy kill to be completely honest although you might want to bring a melee weapon, like a whip and dragon dagger (s) to make sure he doesn’t get on top. Protect from range and whip away. I’ve been hit by a 28 from Karil, nothing to drastic.
Ahrim the blighted
As the picture suggests, range is a powerful force on Ahrim, although I have killed him with all three, melee, range and mage. Range is by far the best here.
5. The Maze
When you turn up to the barrows you will have one brother that will not attack you, instead you find yourself with a cave. The game says something like, “looks scary are you brave enough?” Choose yes and you’re on your way. This cave leads to the reward for your ordeal. Mind you if you haven’t killed all of the brothers you won’t get a decent reward. Once down there you will have to make your way into the centered room.
I’m pretty sure the order in which the doors open is completely random.
Anywhere down there the brother whom didn’t attack you can pop up. Also sometimes Guthan says he will say, “We shall save this for another time” or something along that lines and then disappear just before you kill him.
Once in the treasure room you will find either a empty room with a giant chest, or Guthan returned with half or a bit below HP. Kill Guthan as you did last time and reap your rewards.
6. The Armor And Weapons
I’m currently getting information for this section. I’m getting all of the set’s stats including bonuses.

7. Conclusion
If you are already rich this place is a great place to gamble your money and have fun along the way. If your not so rich (3 mil and under) this can be a great place to mess around with your friends. This is a great break from constantly pking or merchanting.
8. The Do’s and Dont’s
Do.
Always turn off accept help – people with highish magic when fighting Dhorak or Verac will try and teleport you to lumbridge which will cause a screen constantly appearing and makes you unable to run.
Do.
Be prepared for anything and be aware of random events.
Do.
Bring noted food and money to save time. their is a store near barrows so you can trade in your food there.
Dont.
Underjudge the brothers they can pull massive hits on you.
